The department was established in 1998 which is the Foundation Year of the College. The department has well qualified, experienced and dedicated faculty who gives personal attention to students for their overall development. The department is also actively engaged in research and development which is reflected by its publications journals. The laboratories are well developed and have state-of-the-art equipments. .

The Department work as a common hub for all the branches for smooth functioning of First Year Academics. English Language Laboratory has been established for presentation and communication techniques of the students. Apart from the Central Library, the departmental library consists of exhaustive number of reference books, manuals, handbooks etc.
We take special efforts for the beginners to nurture and induct the process of Learning forever by introducing the scientific method of Learning through student centric innovative teaching learning methods by using ICT. The academic result of First Year Engineering is increasing continuously in the choice – based credit and grading system.
